Climbing Mountain

This is my first time climbing a mountain, I read the tips on the internet and started packing all the things that I will bring tomorrow. The goal is to Mount Lawu, which is one of the mountains in the Java region which is very beautiful and at the same time very famous for its awesomeness, yet it quite dangerous for new climbers. Indeed, it is not only on Mount Lawu, on any mountain climbers must really take care so as not to be disturbed by the “original inhabitants” of the mountain.

That night, the two of me and my closest friend went to the starting point of my friends’ association, where at that time everything was the first time we had the experience of climbing a mountain, except for one of my friends named Ridho who had experience climbing mountains many times so he would be the one who would guide us all.

Finally, at the appointed time, I went with four of my friends to the mountain. Is that number a small number as a group to go up the mountain? I don’t care, I hope we meet a lot of the other groups at our destination.

We all went there by bus, a 7 hour journey. Because the trip was done at night, so we forced ourselves to sleep during the trip. And in the morning at our destination, we took a short break before continuing our journey to the first climbing post.

There were indeed several groups of climbers, but we were among the last, so we were quite left behind with other groups. Finally, my friend Ridho led the prayer and explained the ethics that must be obeyed while climbing the mountain. We all nodded and tried our best to stay together.

In the middle of the climb, one of my friends, Bruri, complained that he was annoyed because climbing was tiring. Unconsciously there were unethical words coming out of his mouth, and Ridho looked at my friend in a huff and anxious. Indeed, after that Bruri apologized, but that did not calm Ridho too much. Finally, when the return trip continued, the air suddenly became cold, and the atmosphere was very uncomfortable.

My friend Bruri then suddenly shouted as he saw something, we all panicked. The branches and some of the trees began to sway themselves violently and very random, impossible with the wind. We were separated. Some visions and negative energies begin to appear, drift, and flash erratically. Ridho himself panicked and shouted to gather us all. Until finally we began to be found one by one, some were hiding behind the bushes, lying down, squatting, and so on.

The last one Bruri found, it seemed like he was shivering very badly. Not because of the cold, but because of intense fear. Whereas previously, he was known to be the bravest among our group. At that time there were no other groups that we hoped would join them. Finally Ridho calmed down and ordered us to line up without caring what happened.

We lined up according to what Ridho ordered. Then ordered to start counting to make sure our numbers remain the same as before. Because Ridho was the leader at that time, he immediately started counting and shouted “One!”

I who was behind him continued shouting, “Two!”

Bruri who was behind me shouted “Three!”

And continued by the rest,

“Four!”

“Five!”

“Six!”

“Seven!”

“Eight!”

“Nine!”

“Ten!”

“Eleven!”

“Twelve!”

“Thirteen!”
