I was able to start renting my house since working in engineering department. I chose a place that is still beautiful with the countryside because that is where my dream began if one day I bought my own house. And now I’m happy it’s come true. It had a beautiful scenery.
On the first night when I was watching TV in my new house, I heard the sound of the wall next to me being scratched by something. I just ignored it and continued watching. After all, it went away on its own.
Not to mention when I was in the shower. I heard in the kitchen as if someone was playing with plates and glasses. I thought there’s must be rats as I continued to shower. I still remained indifferent.
But there was one thing that really makes me very uncomfortable.
That night at 11pm my cell phone rang. Honestly, I’m not the type to pick up the phone with a number I don’t recognize. So I let it ring all night while I continued my sleep. It’s okay, the ringtone isn’t that bad.
The next night also in 11pm my cell phone rang again. Still unknown numbers call me every night, seems the number is still the same as yesterday. I was really annoyed and ignored it. I’m single and there’s none I left numbers without I named them.
The next night again when I was going to sleep, I mute my cell phone. Wish I had really sweet dreams tonight. But something uncomfortable happened, there was a sound of vibration from the table and when I saw my cell phone was terrorized again by the number from yesterday. Yup, still at 11pm, I got goosebumps for a moment. But I ignored it and went back to sleep.
Until the next night I completely turned off my cell phone and went straight to bed. This time I made sure everything was calm and safe. I didn’t even care about strange noises from outside. For sure tonight I should be able to sleep soundly.
But then a surprising thing happened. I woke up in the middle of the night hearing something. I thought I knew that voice. While looking for the source of the sound with my state not fully recovered, I heard the sound getting louder.
Oh my goodness my cell phone is ringing again! This is not possible. I don’t understand why this phone can turn on by itself. Guess it’s 11pm. I have mixed feelings between curiosity and fear. After I looked, it was the number again. I got really fed up this time and picked up the phone and started cursing,
“Who the hell is this?! Leave me alone!”
But then what made me little panicked was, nothing could be heard from the cell phone other than the sound of small, long and irregular chuckles. My hair is standing all over my body. I immediately slammed my cell phone on the bed and forced myself to go back to sleep no matter what.
Then in the next night I could not find my phone. Damn it, I strongly remembered I put that on the table in my room! But then I also suddenly remembered this house had a corded telephone hanging on the wall in the living room.
I called my number and it rang on the table beside the phone. What? How could this? Who put did there?
I grab my cellphone and I realized it was the number that always disturbs me every night!
I looked at the clocktable, it says a ten to 11pm.
I buried in fear now.
