Cursed Park

Paijo, 23 years old, lives in the Cisauk, is a young man who recently migrated from Kebumen to seek an independent living in the Jakarta. Everyday he comes home and goes by commuter train to his office in Jakarta. Until one day while on the train, he sat next to a female passenger, who suddenly dropped her wallet. Paijo immediately took the woman’s wallet when she realized it. The woman thanked Paijo for taking the trouble to get her valuable object.

“Where do you work, bro?” Ask the woman first.

Paijo was naturally surprised at the sudden greeting from the opposite gender. Looks like that woman really likes to communicate. Plus the woman is quite beautiful. Paijo is getting nervous. Maybe this is what is called the love at the first sight.

“I… I… work at a building in Menteng area.”

Then the conversation continued until it was discovered that the woman was named Tukiyem, her office was in Salemba, but unexpectedly, she also lived in Cisauk. Even up to the last station, talks were still continuing on minibus. Finally Tukiyem came down first. Her house is not too far from Paijo’s rented house.

The next day when Paijo left for work, he met Tukiyem again. Wow, is this a match? Paijo thought it might be too early. Tukiyem was surprised to see Paijo again. Then another conversation started again. At that time Paijo said that maybe their discussion on public transport is not optimal. Tukiyem seemed to understand what Paijo meant, then Tukiyem gave his card to Paijo.

“There.” Tukiyem pointed to the corner of his business card, “There is my number.”

Paijo is also excited, unexpectedly getting friends, eh, maybe she can be a new girlfriend to fill his own days at his rented house. In the afternoon Paijo invited Tukiyem to meet him via text message. She said yes. Incidentally, tonight is Saturday night, not a problem because tomorrow the office is closed. When asking where the meeting was, Paijo suggested a park next to unused land near a lake in Cisauk.

In fact, Paijo knew that the park he proposed had never been touched by local residents every night because there used to be a lot of murder cases that took place in the corner of the park and around the bush. All the park visitors who were slaughtered every night, were always found dead in the morning with their bodies separated. The identity of the killer was never known and the park was left empty for years until it became unkempt like an ownerless garden. However, during the day, the local residents occasionally pass the park, although there are not many activities there. Even there’re people sometimes look a little cleaning the haunted park. The park is only completely abandoned at night.

Apparently Tukiyem knew about the park, and Tukiyem agreed. Paijo doesn’t know if Tukiyem knew the story about the garden beforehand, but never mind. That night after confirming with Tukiyem, Paijo prepared to visit the park he promised.

Arriving at the park, how surprised Paijo was to see Tukiyem waiting for him on a park bench that directly faced the lake. Paijo approached Tukiyem to confirm that it was really her. Worried it was just the ghost of a person who was killed in the park and disguised as Tukiyem. When Paijo was only a few meters away suddenly Tukiyem turned her face to Paijo. Paijo is very surprised to see Tukiyem who suddenly looked toward him. But Tukiyem then called out to Paijo in her usual voice.

Oh, thank goodness. The real tukiyem. Paijo immediately sat next to Tukiyem and the two together stared at the reflection of the moon on the surface of the lake.

“The reason I invited you here is because it is a very beautiful sight at night.” Sapa Paijo started the conversation. “But have you heard the story related to this garden before?”

Tukiyem shook his head, “No not yet, I’m quite new here. What is the matter?”

Paijo began to tell about this park which often took casualties at night. The visitors seem to have been killed by someone, and until now the killer has not been found. Because of the frequency of these incidents, until finally this park is always quiet at night.

Tukiyem who suddenly shuddered immediately denied, “Then immediately leave this place. I’m afraid something will happen.”

Paijo calmed down, “Calm down, that incident was only a legend decades ago. I’ve never seen any real evidence apart from people’s mouths.”

“Is it true?” Tukiyem tried to confirm.

“See, you’re safe, haven’t you been waiting here?”

Tukiyem finally started to calm down a little. Then she spoke to Paijo, “Even if this is true, maybe the killer is no longer there. Because you said that happened several decades ago, right?”

Paijo nodded. Finally they both looked at the beautiful reflection of the moon on the lake surface calmly.

“If anything happens to you, calm down, there’s still me.” Paijo said firmly. Tukiyem looked red with blush.

Paijo then continued his words loudly, “I can swear, tonight we are safe, because I believe there is nothing dangerous whatsoever, including murder. Listen to me, there will be no such thing as a murderer. ”

“Are you sure?!” I, who had been hiding in the bushes, came out towards them with a sharp cleaver in my hand while laughing as I saw them both startled with fear.

Tonight I got two victims.
